Private fire hydrants

Your hydrant has one job. Make sure it can do it.

If you have an off-street or privately owned fire hydrant, which is common at mobile home parks, large commercial properties and homeowner communities, there's a good chance it must be inspected every year.

During an annual hydrant inspection we:

  • Confirm the hydrant is connected to a live water supply
  • Exercise every valve to make sure it opens, closes and doesn't leak
  • Flow the hydrant and verify adequate pressure and flow
  • Check caps, threads and drainage, and note any repairs needed

Flat-rate pricing

A lower per-unit price isn't a lower bill.

Other fire protection companies may quote a lower per-unit price, then add charges for replacement parts and small services once they're on site.

We give you a flat-rate, upfront quote so there are no surprises on your final bill. Our sprinkler, suppression and hydrant services are all-inclusive, from testing to chemical and parts replacement to training your staff, and still very affordable.

FAQ

Testing FAQs

Still have a question? Call (707) 386-0006 and you'll get Kevin, not a call center.

Do I really need to test my private fire hydrant?

If you own an off-street or private hydrant, as at many mobile home parks, business parks and HOAs, you're typically responsible for maintaining it. Annual inspection and flow testing keeps you compliant and makes sure it works when the fire department needs it.

What is hydrostatic testing?

Pressure-testing a cylinder or pipe to make sure it can safely hold its rated pressure. Extinguishers and suppression cylinders need it on a 5- or 12-year cycle depending on type, and fire department connections have their own schedule.

Will you send the report to my fire department?

You'll get a clear, code-compliant report for your records. If your fire agency requires reports to be submitted a specific way, let us know and we'll follow their process.
